Statement by the Lebanese Green Party
We are in the Lebanese Green Party and the participants in the discussion of the national paper of Lebanon’s commitment to limit its emissions and its dependence on alternative and renewable energy and participants in the official delegation to the climate change conference held in the French capital. We consider that in the Paris climate agreement signed by 196 countries participating in the conference, Including Lebanon, an unprecedented agreement that promotes hope for the future of mankind and the planet.
There is no doubt that vigorous efforts were made before and during the conference by the participating countries, as well as by the participants on the sidelines of the conference of the green parties, associations and environmental activists from around the world. This cooperation led to this historic agreement between the countries.On the one hand, and developing and poor countries on the other, to reduce carbon emissions, fight global warming, reduce global warming by less than 2 degrees Celsius, and make efforts to not exceed one and a half degrees Celsius. “The world countries are committed to their national plans to reduce their emissions, For decades to renewable renewable energy and the commitment of industrialized and rich countries to provide financial assistance to developing and poor countries in order to preserve the environment in their country.
“We in the Lebanese Green Party look very positively at the outcome of the international cooperation agreement and hope that all countries of the world commit themselves to implementing the Paris Climate Agreement.
We will follow with all those interested in preserving the environment the implementation of Lebanon’s pledge to the world to reduce its emissions and switch to alternative energy.
